You may have had heard about the landslide which recently happended in the area near Sikles, where most of my time in Nepal will be spent, that has left five people missing, now pronounced dead; out of which three are from Sikles (of the same family).
The deceased were the main income earners of the families and since they are no more with us/family, family members particularly their sons and daughters will have difficulties towards their future. The deceased couple have three sons and 3 daughters while the brother deceased has 3 sons and 1 daughter; some of the sons/daughters are quite young.
A temporary fund committee has been established and is coordinated by Sikles Development Concerned Group for the family which can be used to support partially in support of sons/daughters' education. In Kathmandu, Dr. Hum Gurung and Gehendra Gurung will coordinate and communicate nationally and internationally.
I will most likely be spending most of my time in Kathmandu with Dr. Hum Gurung, if anyone wishes to make a contribution, you are very welcome to do so via me and I will ensure it gets to the right place upon my arrival in Kathmandu on the 18th as soon as I see Hum.
Wishing all the best to those who have lost a friend or relative in this recent tragedy.
gd luck on your flight to nepal tommorow :)
